Proud to Support Bradford’s Biggest Community Weekend
On July 18, 2026, thousands of people filled the BWG Public Square at 425 Holland Street West for the Retro Festival — and Avanessy Giordano LLP was proud to be there as a Gold Sponsor.
What is now one of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s largest community-led events began as a neighbourhood street party in Summerlyn. Six years later, organized by the volunteer-run Street Party Collective, it fills the town’s public square with live bands, food trucks, a kids zone with splash pad access, a beer garden and giant LED screens. The 2026 edition ran as a full weekend for the first time, with the Saturday festival followed by a championship soccer viewing party in the square on July 19.
Where the Money Goes
Admission to the Retro Festival is pay-what-you-can, and for 2026 the organizers directed 100% of ticket proceeds to two local causes:
- Royal Canadian Legion Branch 521 and the Poppy Fund — including the Legion’s kitchen rehabilitation project, with Poppy Fund donations supporting veterans, active service members and their families.
- Music programs at Bradford District High School and Holy Trinity Catholic High School — funded in partnership with the foundation behind local band 9th Line, and earmarked for quality instruments and equipment for students.
Why We Sponsored
An event like this only works because sponsors cover the costs associated with the festival which are not funded by the very reasonable cost of the entrance fee. Sponsorship dollars pay for the stage production, screens, sound, permits and security, which is exactly what allows every dollar raised at the gate to reach the Legion, the Poppy Fund and the two high school music programs.
That was the appeal for us. Our firm has a genuine footprint in Bradford — we act for clients across the area on personal injury claims and real estate matters. And supporting the Retro Festival was a straightforward way to put something back into the community that supports us.
We’re grateful to every Bradford client who has trusted our firm with a serious matter, and to the organizers and volunteers who make a weekend like this happen. We’re always here to help, and we’re always Fighting for Better.
