Shantel Perry is an articling student at Avanessy Giordano LLP. Shantel is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School (Class of 2020) . Prior to law school, Shantel obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Socio-legal studies, Political Science and Women and Gender studies from the University of Toronto, where she graduated with distinction.
While in law school, Shantel served as Head of Student Life for the First-Generation Network (National Chapter), Special Events Coordinator for the First- Generation Network (Osgoode Chapter), Social Events Coordinator for the Black Law Students Association, and Opportunity day leader for the Black Law Students Association. Shantel also founded “Order in the Closet”, a clothing drive initiative dedicated to reducing environmental waste and providing law students with cost effective professional wear.
During the second year of law school, Shantel was selected as one of twenty students to be a caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services. In this role, Shantel worked on Ontario Disability Support Program appeals and zealously represented her clients before the Social Benefits Tribunal. Shantel loves helping people and is passionate about enhancing access to justice.
Outside of work, Shantel’s interests include cooking, travelling, hiking, watching documentaries and spending time with family and friends.
