Somya Grover is a recent graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor. Prior to law school, she completed an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree with a specialist in Psychology from the University of Toronto. Somya has diverse experience in client advocacy from both a litigation and mediation perspective.
While in law school, Somya was part of the Community Legal Aid Program in which she assisted clients in all stages of the pre-trial process. She has also worked with the Parole Board of Canada in the facilitation of clients’ record suspension and U.S. Entry Waiver Applications.
Somya has extensive volunteer experience, including serving as a Women’s Health Equity Coordinator and raising awareness in her community. Through her volunteer experience, Somya became acutely aware of the importance of raising awareness and bringing about equitable change for marginalized populations. Somya has also lived in many countries and this has provided her with a unique perspective on various cultural norms and standards, which assists her in advocating for her clients in the most culturally competent manner.
Through Somya’s personal, professional, and volunteer experience, she is cognizant, not only of the complex nature of the litigation process, but also of the diverse nature of clients’ needs. As such, she looks forward to using her skills in advocating for clients and helping them achieve the most efficient and effective results.
Outside of work, Somya’s interests include travelling, cooking, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Somya is trilingual and is fully proficient in English, Urdu, and Hindi.
